You've probably heard of the two cricket teams heading up Mount Everest to have a cricket match. Great charity game, and even though it may snow, they'll use pink cricket balls to see through it if they have to. Currently they're acclimatising near the foot of the mountain, but they'll play the match on April 21st.
Anyway, a Nir Lama of Peace Nepal Treks is onto something. He thinks this event will do wonders for mountain tourism, because people will realise that:
"Mountains are not just for climbing."
They're also for dying.
"...Bad idea about the picnic, then."

mountains for cricket? Madness or genius? Depends who wins...
It's revolutionary. I'm just waiting for underwater cricket now.
Did you hear the news? Nepalese internal national forest political maneuvering has once again derailed a major cricket match, seriously.
They never learn. So sad.
Personally, I think its a little disrespectful to the mountains.
Right you are, Samir.
