Fake IPL Player = Ranadeb Bose

So it's almost official, but nobody's saying his name.
There must have been hundreds of people who pegged him days before this almost-there confirmation of the Fake IPL Player's identity.

Gulu Ezekiel writes for the New Indian Express, and pretty much says it all:
He is smart — educated at one of the country’s top schools — articulate and bitter as well. And he has reason to be, after being one the most successful bowlers in a recent domestic season.

The motive can be traced to the Kolkata Knight Riders camp in the IPL’s first season. After being kept on the sidelines for half the event, the player in question along with five others was asked to leave the team hotel in Kolkata and no longer be part of the franchise ostensibly on the grounds of cost cutting.

He had lashed out at the time at what he perceived to be shabby treatment and swore never to wear KKR colours again, being particularly critical of the team owner and the coach. It is no surprise then that KKR decided to dispense with him this year and he was picked up by a franchise from the North.

The name will be revealed within 24 hours but it's pretty obvious, if this article is correct which it seems to be, that Ranadeb Bose is your man.

And it looks like Ezekiel has received word that perhaps Lord Almighty was the one suppling KKR insider info to RDB. Oh dear. How exciting.

Ha ha. Nice drama. We can make a thriller movie out of this.

I really hope it was Ganguly giving the info. That's just too good to be true.

This whole thing has gotten even more interesting now.

RDB is a loser. He used a pick a lot of wickets in county cricket for Bengal. He never translated that kind of a form in International cricket. For his height and athletic build, he bowls at 120 odd which is completely unsuited for T20. No doubt they dropped him from the side. So he has resorted to ways of earning money by faking himself.

He's a very funny loser, then.

Hey, maybe people should have picked it for certain sooner. "RDB" was the only unoffensive nickname.

Not official yet...

And the fact that RDB disn't have an offensive name makes me think it's not him.

Anyone else remember Spy v Spy from MAD comics?

No, not official yet, but the only way for it to be wrong is if the author had it completely wrong. That's pretty shocking journalism. Mostly, all the signs point towards RDB.

It's kind of a shame he's been found out so quickly.

Ah yes, Spy vs Spy, evokes some good memories. :)

By the way I do wish that Lordie doesn't turn out to be providing inside information. However, he does seem the bitter, judas type to have done so.

I don't think he could get in any real trouble for supplying gossip to another player, because that's essentially what it is.

But him doing that is the hardest thing to believe about this actually, especially considering how he was depicted in Fake's initial posts. I don't really believe Ganguly was behind any of it; RDB is more believable.

Oh dear god, let it be The Giant Alien Lizard aka Ganguly. It would the cricket story of the century, certainly eclipsing MV's return to the England team.

No, it's not Ranadeb Bose. He is playing against bangalore today in the ipl match.
It's rumoured that a sardar player has been caught in a durban net-cafe.

Amy said...

Damith, I guess it really isn't him, then.

Aj, that Durban cafe story is hilarious. Sounds even more fake than Fake himself.

I think people are speculating a little too much on RDB. Please don't drag it to an extent where someone not poven beyond doubt is victimized. And, you know the politics, if someone performs well in domestic circuit, there are plenty of examples around that they were not picked for the international squad. Need examples? Abhijit Kale, Milind Nadkarni, etc. Search cricinfo and you will get it. No they are not loosers. But the BCCI is!!

Well, I wrote this 3 days ago and a lot has changed since then. I don't care as much, for one.

I am a noob when it comes to editing videos but would like to step into it.

Right know I am installing Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 10(christmas present)and was wandering how good it was. Have also heard about Sony Vegas from a few friends and was wandering how it was.

I am looking for ease of use, and a very simple user interface. I do use torrents, so all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for your time and consideration and look forward to your responses.
