With that kind of a squad, they cannot cherish any hopes of an Ashes triumph. Though we won't see a repeat of 06/07, this series is, in all probability, going to be one-sided. England might just win the dead rubber game, them being dead-rubber specialists.
When r they going to give Adil Rashid a game? They misses an opportunity in India.. he couldve been a trump card for the ashes.
@12th, The Ashes have long been shaping up to be pretty one-sided, although the 2006-07 series was particularly dreadful. In the past, most England teams who have actually won the Ashes have had a number of external factors influencing it.
@Q - Hopefully now's the time? England might go for other players, though, knowing them.
In the Daily Telegraph today, Dimitri Mascarenhas was claimed as an Aussie. He apparently played junior cricket for WA, went to school with Simon Katich and is good mates with Adam Voges.
I don't think Katich has tried to strangle him either, which probably means he rates above Michael Clarke.
I predict he'll continue to be claimed by the Aussie media until he turns out to be crap. Then he'll be ridiculed mercilessly!
We like to do that, don't we? It's a matter of taking credit for whatever we possibly can. Charming.
Katich probably just hasn't had the opportunity to strangle him. He's lurking in shadows, waiting for the opportunity, however.
