The new season of Thank God You're Here premiered on Wednesday night, and in its line-up was an interesting ad which TGYH had created to essentially ridicule the multitude of Australian cricketers advertising the most inane products.
There's the point that Ricky Ponting knows everything about vitamins, and among his other pursuits, a few years back he dressed up as a can of Rexona.
So the producers got Damien Fleming to talk "Australian Synchroton" and see just how well an Aussie cricketer could sell a completely unrelated product. Watch the video, the ad's pretty hilarious. Fleming is brilliant:

brilliant! not long before one of those airs for real in India with Dhoni and Co in all seriousness
Haha, that would be hilarious. Indian cricketers can sell anything, right? Or at least, the public will buy anything sold by an Indian cricketer.
Hilarious! My favourite cricketer ad was pup making an ass out of himself trying to impersonate Richie Benaud.
completely unrelated, but this is what gambhir said in his interview with cricinfo:
"What drink is the best one to celebrate a victory with?
I haven't ever tasted alcohol of any kind."
wtf?
Esra, you seem to be suggesting that was the one time Pup made an ass of himself.
Anon, I knew it.
Thanks for posting the video :)
Cheers. Had to wait a few days for it to be put up, though.
That is true, I retract my statement. I used to be pup's biggest fan and now I can't stand the little princess. Flem on the other hand should get a Logie for this performance!
I blame Lara for part of it, but mostly it's just him. Looking at Pup makes me just want to punch him. He's the sort of player who comes into the game and then spends the next few years becoming reliable even though he's not that great of a player.
speaking of pup, i know he scored a century on test debut and all that but i never saw what made him ponting version 2.0 (not sure about your feelings for the captain, but he's always been a classy bat), way ahead of anyone to wear the baggy green since
Ponting can bat, but Clarke is just the type of typical cricketer who comes out and regularly scores half centuries or centuries without showing all too much real skill. And his bowling doesn't do justice to the figures he collects.
