Rajasthan's Miracle

10 overs gone by, and still no fallen wicket. And further still, they're on 92 runs. WTF.

Graeme Smith is actually batting like he means it and Ojha is being mighty useful as well down the other end. What is going on?

You would be forgiven for thinking this is some sort of strange dream. But at least Rajasthan can take their weaknesses and somehow work on them well enough to produce this.

As for tonight's other match, what a joke. Delhi over Kolkata anyday, but I'd be willing to see Kolkata somehow win this one. Not just a joke, but a funny one.

Shane Watson will soon join the Royals, now that the ODI series in Dubai has ended. Considering his 85 and 100 in the last two ODI matches, you can expect him to replace Quiney/Carseldine in the Royals squad.

Gayle has left for England and there is no better substitute for him in the KKR squad. So I doubt that victory will continue to elude their sub-standard line-up.

Unless Baz decides to do all on his own that is.

Btw, how do you manage to wake up till the completion of the D/N matches and write about them? Even people in India, for whom the matches are supposed to be on primetime, hit their sacks by then.

Sometimes caffeine, sometimes the ability to survive on 2 hours of sleep. It all depends on work and what kind of work I'm doing/how busy it is and whether I can be bothered. Because it's all very flexible. I don't watch all of the games for sure, or I'd be a zombie. I won't be sticking around for tonight's second match because these next few weeks are going to be pretty full on so I don't care enough to sacrifice my sleep.

Interestingly, I once knew a man who actually reversed his sleeping patterns. He had a day job and everything, but he was nocturnal. He would sleep after hours and then wake up at 1 in the morning to start his day. Strange, but amusing. He used to mow his lawn in the middle of the night.

That is an interesting topic on sleeping patterns. I have known call centre employees who revesed their sleeping patterns as they stay awake taking up "customer care" calls from the US.

I don't know if it is healthy, but it doesn't quite work for me. I would go mad if i don't get 7 hours of sleep/day. Nothing would go right the next day and my body would heat up tremendously.

That probably prompted me to ask this question. For someone who works on a day job, it should be tough.

I stay awake on key matches though. I remember watching India go down to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the first leg of WC 2007 when the matches ended at around 4 AM India time.

RR 211 !!! I am so upset I could not watch Sreesanth getting wacked. My wife had to call me to give the news. Damn you work.

Holy fuck! KXIP could be out in 10. They're 2/2 after 1 over, and still have to get to 212. RR were fucking impressive.

Btw on the sleep pattern thing, as an insomniac who lives off 3 hours sleep a night the IPL has been the best thing on late night tv in ages!

So Smith waddled his way to some runs. It's about time he lost some weight. What does everyone else think? Is this why he is not attractive to women?

This could be good for RR's NRR. Wow, go acronyms!!

Can I confess I'm actually rather partial to Graeme Smith? It's my secret shame, but yeah, I'd tap that

I never did get the Smith thing, but this summer he has won me over. Not my favourite Saffa (in looks or personality) but Richie I wouldn't say no :)

Smith is actually a sexy beast. Beats me why he can't get a girlfriend. Or boyfriend!!!!

I think most of the chicks out there would go for AB first but Smith has a bit of X factor about him, even if Amy is not that enamoured of him.

Kings mob in for a bit of a thrashing here methinks.

Yuvraj's team hit rock bottom today. Poor captaincy from him. We need a poll. Would women rather do with Warnie or Smith?

Smith for me and I luv seeing Warney's team get up.

Warnie's team has opened up the IPL never before!! intriguing

12th, yep, it's mostly a matter of whether the match is worth it, and sometimes if I have a quiet day afterwards, I'll just watch it. But if you're a call centre worker and you reverse your sleeping patterns, how do you go about doing the basic things in life, like say shopping for groceries? It must be difficult.

Rayden, unfortunately that is the way of the adult world. How we despise it.

Esra, I come from a family of insomniacs. Too bad I'm more of an ogre who falls asleep pretty quickly.

Anon No. Something, girls would definitely go for AB first. I even know a few who'd go for Graeme. To be honest, the Graeme thing isn't all that appealing, especially if you can remember the days when he didn't hulk around, but I can understand it to an extent.

Anon No. Something Something, don't even talk about doing Warnie. What a disturbing thought. Smith all the way.

Sam, I think they're practising being confident in their batting skills. haha.

Warne and his men never cease to amaze. I expected them jostling with KKR at the bottom of the table but they seemed destined for semis. Smith has changed his game to the extent that I at times fail to recognise him. But then it suits the team. Awesome!

Stani Army, good one?

Som, they were always made of strange stuff which I believe most people would call "success".

So Amy likes AB but finds Warnie and Smith unsexy.

I'm not going to lie. AB certainly looks better than Warnie. But no, I wouldn't say I liked him from the outset. Has a little to do with all of this.

Plenty of people seem to find Graeme sexy. Doesn't quite float my boat, really. And as for Warnie, I believe the question was whether I'd do him, and that is one thing I most certainly would not.
